World AIDS Day \/ Day With(out) Art 2025: Meet Us Where We\u2019re At\u2026<\/h4>

Am Welt-AIDS-Tag veranstaltet Village Berlin eine besondere Zeremonie, um sich um Themen im Zusammenhang mit HIV und AIDS zu vereinen. Die Veranstaltung umfasst das gemeinsame Erstellen eines Altars, das Abhalten einer kleinen Zeremonie, gefolgt von einem Filmprogramm von Visual AIDS.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr den Altar werden die Teilnehmer ermutigt, alles mitzubringen, was mit dem Thema HIV\/AIDS, Krankheit, Genesung und Gedeihen in Bezug auf die Farbe Rot zu tun hat, ein von Visual AIDS initiiertes Thema. Dieser Altar soll jegliche pers\u00f6nliche Erfahrung mit HIV und AIDS zum Ausdruck bringen.<\/p>\n

Nach dem Altar werden wir als Gruppe einige Momente der Stille halten und dann den Raum f\u00fcr pers\u00f6nliche Reflexionen \u00f6ffnen. Die Teilnehmer werden ausdr\u00fccklich ermutigt, sich in jeder Kapazit\u00e4t zu beteiligen. Unter Bezugnahme auf das Thema von Visual AIDS zur Farbe Rot als Ausgangspunkt werden alle Stimmen gleichberechtigt behandelt. Sei es Verlust, Trauer, Wut, Aktivismus, Gleichg\u00fcltigkeit oder sogar historisches Interesse, keine Stimme soll ungeh\u00f6rt bleiben.<\/p>\n

Day With(out) Art 2025: Meet Us Where We\u2019re At\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

we are village<\/strong> is proud to partner with Visual AIDS for Day With(out) Art 2025 by presenting Meet Us Where We\u2019re At<\/strong>, a program of six videos that forefront the experiences of drug users and harm reduction practices as they intersect with the ongoing HIV crisis.<\/p>\n

Meet Us Where We\u2019re At\u2026<\/strong> will feature newly commissioned videos by Kenneth Idongesit Usoro (Nigeria), Ho\u00e0ng Th\u00e1i Anh (Vietnam), Gustavo Vinagre & Vinicius Couto (Brazil\/Portugal), Camilo Tapia Flores (Chile\/Brazil), Camila Flores-Fern\u00e1ndez (Peru\/Germany), and Jos\u00e9 Luis Cort\u00e9s (Puerto Rico)<\/p>\n

Commissioned videos by artists in Puerto Rico, Brazil, Nigeria, Germany, and Vietnam journey across a range of spaces revealing the complexity of drug use. Several videos document the visible world of drugs\u2014a harm reduction program in a Berlin park, a night out during Rio\u2019s Carnival\u2014while others reveal private, often hidden spaces where safety is found: bedrooms, underground clinics, and moments of connection between lovers.<\/p>\n

Meet Us Where We\u2019re At\u2026\u00a0<\/strong> speaks not only to the variety of physical locations where contemporary harm reduction is practiced, but also to a broader shift: centering drug users as authors of their own experiences. Rooted in the philosophy of meeting people at their personal reality without judgment, the program affirms the full context of drug use\u2014its pleasures, its risks, and its role in how people survive, care, and connect.<\/p>\n

Harm reduction has long been central to the AIDS movement through practices like needle exchange and safe injection sites, and people who use drugs have been affected by HIV since the earliest days of the epidemic. This program brings their perspectives to the forefront, amplifying the voices of drug users as storytellers, cultural producers, and essential participants in the global response to HIV.<\/p>\n

** Visual AIDS<\/a> is a New York-based non-profit that utilizes art to fight AIDS by provoking dialogue, supporting HIV+ artists, and preserving a legacy, because AIDS is not over.<\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\t
